“Coraggio, Leeza. Coraggio.” A whisper heard within a young woman’s heart as she lay in a darkened nursing home room conjures tales told by a beloved Italian grandmother. The stories, steeped in Old World wisdom, describe lives filled with uncertainty or tragedy, yet graced with contentment and love. Coraggio—courage—is the common trait that enables the characters to trek resiliently through hardship and suffering. Those memories spark a glimmer of hope that leads the young pre-medical student from her wheelchair to successful careers as an administrative law judge, a policy advisor for the Michigan state senate and governor, an advocate for people with disabilities and for improving end-of-life care, and an inspiring speaker dedicated to helping others lead more fulfilling lives.
Coraggio! Despite Illness, Pain, and Loss is the first book in a series of Coraggio! books and covers lessons One to Three. Based on Old World principles, the first three lessons teach that no matter how hopeless a situation, there is always some aspect of it within your control and that can positively influence your health, your medical treatment, your attitude, and your life fulfillment. By explaining the importance of loving yourself and others, Coraggio! illustrates how courage-inspired love can benefit your health and improve your relationships.
To facilitate ease of use, this book is constructed with a lightweight cover and a spiral binding that will lay flat. People with arthritis or neuromuscular challenges will thus be able to prop up the book at eye level and read hands-free until it is time to turn a page.
Each chapter is summarized by a Courage Keeper—a message to keep, reflect on, and be encouraged by. It is a reminder that you are the keeper of your own courage, with the ability to pull forth courage to face the challenges of the moment and triumph over them.

WITH COURAGE I CAN
put one of four Coraggio! books
in the hand of someone who needs encouragement.
Would you join me in offering a prayer that the Coraggio! mission will be accomplished?
Would you consider bestowing Coraggio! to a person in need of enCOURAGEment?
Donations toward the fulfillment of the Coraggio! mission are welcome and I promise 100% of the donation will be used to provide a book to someone in need. You may send Coraggio! to a loved one and I will include a gift note with your name or indicate it is a gift from an unnamed person who cares. You may donate a copy of Coraggio! to a person who has requested a free copy because they are unable to pay for a copy. If you would like to specify whether the book will go to a person with illness, or a person grieving the loss of a loved one, or a person living with daily pain, or a person in search of spiritual encouragement, please indicate your preference on the donation form found at the book order link. We would be happy to send you an email or written note to let you know to how many Coraggio! books we provided at your generosity.
Your kindness enCOURAGEs me,
