Labor Day – Integrity and Kindness

September 6, 2021 by Lisa Gigliotti No Comments

Immigrating from Italy and Hungary, all four grandparents were appreciative for the work opportunities the USA afforded. No matter whether the job was below their education, skills, or social status, they performed with the utmost work ethic and with kindness to others.

On Labor Day let their legacy remind us that no matter the task at hand,
we can give it our all and with kindness to others.

Stay cool!

August 26, 2021 by Lisa Gigliotti No Comments

For those joining us for the MG Wellness and Fitness gathering in the Saginaw, MI park tonight…stay cool! The wonderful Dr. Hafer-Macko shared that she likes the flexifreeze.com cooling vest to reduce core body temps. Looking for quick cooling ideas from items you have around the house? Throw a damp dish towel in the freezer now – you can wrap it around your neck to cool you. Bring any ice pack in a cinch sack or the MG-MI bag, and hold it close to your body. Frozen water bottles serve two purposes: holding it will cool you and you can hydrate as the water melts!

National Family Caregivers Month and the day of all Saints

November 1, 2020 by Lisa Gigliotti No Comments

Today as we honor the start of National Family Caregivers Month and the day of all Saints—we reflect on the overlap of themes and give gratitude for those in our past who selflessly provided for our daily needs or guided us to step up to the potential we might never had recognized or attained.

It is our opportunity to offer service as caregiver and saint by compassionately opening ourselves to give emotional or physical care to family or those in our community, to smile with our eyes while passing others in our mask, and to listen with kindness to others who express differing views or we perceive as unkind.

September 29, 2020 by Lisa Gigliotti No Comments

Mother Teresa Hospice House cares for those most in financial and social need at NO CHARGE and welcomes people of all faiths and ethnicities. At this morning’s Path to Peace Breakfast I learned that during the past pandemic months they prioritized serving those who were alone. Deeply grateful they remain able to continue opening their home.
